Frosted Leaf

The Shire

I took this picture in 2017 while touring Hobbiton (the Shire of Lord of the Rings) in New Zealand. This was taken at the base of a hill looking up toward some of the hobbit houses. It was such a beautiful afternoon touring the Shire with LOTS of other travelers and tourists.

Buck Mountain Looking at Lake George

A friend and I were hiking over Valentines day weekend up near Lake George.  It was a very cold morning and as we reached the summit, the trees were coated with ice and when the breeze blew, it sounded like glass wind chimes…absolutely incredible!

Frozen Creek

I took this photo while hiking up Buck Mountain near Lake George with a friend of mine. It was a very cold morning. The ice had little crystals frozen and reaching down towards the water.

Harris Saddle Views

This is one of my two absolute MOST FAVORITE photos from my seven-month journey.  This picture was taken at the shelter at Harris Saddle on the Routeburn track in New Zealand.  It was absolutely the most spectacular multiple-day hike.  My friend and I hiked 96 kilometers (almost 60 miles) in 7 days.

Hoi An River Lantern

This photo was taken after I had done a bicycle tour around Hoi An Vietnam.  We were in the ancient village after dark, walking by the river when we saw all these little paper lanterns floating on the river.   You could buy one, make a wish, and then send if off floating away.  I didn’t buy one but I saw this one right by the short and so snapped a shot of it.

The Northern NZ Coastline and Vietnam Lanterns

New Zealand Northern Coastline:   This photograph was taken while enjoying the “Hole in the Rock” cruise.   It was dubbed that because there is quite a mountain sticking out of the sea that actually has a hole large enough to drive a large tour boat through!  This view is of the coastline after coming out the other side of the hole in the rock!  It was a completely incredible experience!

Vietnam Lanterns:  I took this photo in a restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam.  I was having dinner there with my G Adventures tour group.  The lighting and ambiance from these lanterns were incredible and so I thought I would try to capture the moment.

Tongariro Panoramic

I took this panoramic photograph on my second multiple-day-hike in New Zealand; the Tongariro Northern Circuit Great Walk. It was the first day of the hike and the morning had been cloudy, windy, and rainy; didn’t make for the best start.  The day ended, however, with a clear blue sky and a gorgeous sunset!  I was more than halfway done with the day’s distance when I turned back and appreciated this view.  I’m so glad I did as it has turned out to be one of my favorite panoramas!  I hope you enjoy it too!
